HALE BIRTHS IN THE GENERAL REGISTER OFFICE INDEXES

We have extracted nearly 1,000 HALE births from what used to be known as the St Catherine's House indexes, (now better known as the GRO indexes,) and will gradually upload them to this page over the next few months.

The 30 years covered are 1837 (beginning of registration) to 1867, and the extracts are mainly from Monmouthshire, Gloucestershire, Bristol and Somerset.

The pages are in Portable Document Format (PDF) and you will need a PDF reader such as Acrobat to read them. Most modern browsers already have one as a plug-in, but if yours hasn't you can

102 HALE births, mostly in Monmouthshire, Bristol and North Somerset, with a few from Gloucestershire.
There were fewer names registered in the early years than there were later on. (Don't forget - PDF pages are scaleable and printable.)
